This past Monday Carl accomplished a great feat...he ran the (in)famous Boston Marathon (26.2 miles)! Known for it's grueling course ending with "heartbreak hill", Boston is one of the most well-known marathons where competitors come from literally around the world. Carl was privileged to get the chance to run Boston through the Wounded Warrior program. This was Carl's second marathon and praise the Lord he made it through with a stellar time of 3 hours and 51 minutes! Though Will and I were able to see him at a couple of points through the race, I couldn't get any pictures through the madness and many runners. Literally millions of people show up for this race and bystanders cheer the runners along throughout the entire course. Anyhow, here are some shots I got off the marathon website (notice the "proof" label). Carl did a phenomenal job and we are so proud of him!
Look at that smile! What relief to be done with that!
A few weeks ago, we went outside and Will played a little in the very last bit of snow on the ground. He loves to pick up and throw snowballs until they are completely obliterated. :)
I love this picture. Though you can't see his whole face, but love the joy you can see.
Will can now say his name. However, when he says it sometimes it comes out "Bill", while other times he has more of the W sound. So here's a couple videos. In the first one he does "Bill" and "Will". In the second he just says "Will" (and bye-bye). He is really antsy in the videos because he so badly wants to see himself on the camera. :)
Since it was finally nice enough to get out yesterday, we took a trip to the park. It was so nice we didn't even need jackets while playing. Here are more than a few pictures. :)
Love these pics of Will and his friend Glory swinging.
Will has always loved music. It has always calmed him and caused him to stop and listen and occasionally dance. :) When he was younger he loved "Baa-Baa Black Sheep" and he would sing "Baa-Baa". Then he learned "Jesus Loves Me", singing "yes" and "bible". Now he likes "The B-I-B-L-E. He often sings "b-i-b-i-b-i BIBLE!", then he sings the verses (in his own words ;)) and shouts "BIBLE!" again. Anyhow, here I actually got him on video singing the chorus with his "BIBLE!" on the end (which I had to persuade him to do...he wanted the camera).
Carl took Will for a walk the other day during which Will discovered a love for throwing and destroying snowballs. Here he's trying to demolish one that just won't be destroyed. Eventually he is forced into resignation by his freezing hands. It was an unusually warm day out otherwise, as you might notice. :)
This is a way for us to keep in touch with friends and family from afar. We are Christians and strive to live for the Lord wherever He and the military land us.
