Okay, all you mommies out there...I come again before you for advice. I am just a little over a month out and a half from my due date, and of course with the increase in my size, baby's size, and the days passing, I am thinking more and more about the actual day of delivery. Add to that the fact that only 5% of babies actually come on their actual due date, and you'll understand why I am really starting to buckle down on preparation for our babies arrival. Upfront I will say that I am going to try to deliver naturally, as that is the wish of both Carl and I. Having said that, I will not go into the delivery room completely down on or against any other type of delivery, as only the Lord knows what will happen there, and I don't want to ever be disappointed with the birth. How could I be when the result is such a glorious gift from God? :) To the point of this post now---What is your advice for labor/the delivery process, etc.? Thank you again, all my sweet friends and wonderful mothers!
P.S. We are temporarily out of internet at home, so my posts may be more infrequent as of late.

Don't fight it...go with it, understanding that you, your baby, and your body are all working together for the same wonderful goal! View each contraction as one less contraction to endure before meeting your beautiful baby boy. Remain calm and focus. I always have relaxing music in the background. Also, Carl is your coach and there for whatever you need. Communicate! If you are too warm, too cold, lights are too bright, etc. let him know and he'll communicate to the staff to make sure your desires are met. When you start having the "I can't do this" feeling just remember you really are almost there! It's also really great to be able to change positions often. Remember your body will tell you what to do. If you feel like squatting or pushing baby out on your hands and knees then do it! Having a natural birth is such and awesome and rewarding experience. You were made to do this girl and you can! Remember Phil. 4:13. We are praying for you and your baby and rejoicing in his little life no matter how he arrives into this great big world. We love you! God bless.
Hello Jenny. Luba here. 2 days ago we gave birth to our second son! My labor was FAST - 2 hours from first contraction (and water breaking) to having him in our arms. God is so good to us! The difference between 1st labor and this one for me (first one was great too, with only 6 hours of labor) was breathing. This time I was really concentrated on breathing NORMALLY, no panting, no other type of irregular breathing, just listen to your breathing and try to keep it as normal as possible. Contractions will still hurt, but you won't be hindering the work that they are doing. This has definitely helped me this time, well, God helped us. When it was time to push and it was needed to breathe in and then push (not breathe) out, it took me a moment to "regroup" and go from my "normal breathing" into "pushing breathing" = breathe in and push out. Praise the Lord, God can and will help, just ask. (We were praying for our baby to be born on Jul.1 and God gave us exceedingly abundantly more than we asked or thought!) Phlp.3:20, and also John 16:21!! With love, Luba.
Hmm...I agree with everything Luba and Cindee said. I remember very well how I felt before Faith was due about a month or so out. I wanted as much info as I could. It is a scary thing when you are a planner and want to know what to expect. And the truth is you just can't know, every one is different. At the same time just try to stay focused and calm. The more you let your body work and do what it is suppose to do without fighting it the better for you and the baby. Anyhow, we are praying that everything goes well and can't wait to see the pictures of that little one. God provides and gives strength, rely on it. Love you guys.
Hi! I never leave comments on blog's but I just felt I needed to this time. I too planned on an all natural birth. Jim and I read and worked so hard to be prepared. Well I had to have a C-section after 16 hours of pitocin and not one contraction. I didn't know a thing about it because I just "knew" God would give us our desire. I was totally unprepared for what God wanted. Explore and be prepared for ALL possiblities. We will be praying that the Lord will grant you the natural birth you desire.

Labor is perfectly natural. As you go into this, know that fear causes you to tense up which causes more intense pain. As you labor, try to relax and focus on what your body is doing, breathing deeply and through your belly. When you are in pain, you tend to breathe from your chest which also creates more pain and a feeling of hyperventilating, not good. I love to have beautiful, calm, piano music playing, lights down low, a feeling of peace all around me. I also depend completely on my husband being a cheerleader through every intense contraction. As he tells me I am doing a good job and that this contraction is almost over, this helps me to know that I can get through it. Relax your face during contractions, focusing all your energy on your uterus and allowing your baby to come down into position. You can do it! No matter what kind of delivery, the end result is a beautiful baby and a wonderful feeling of a new love that floods your very being. I am so excited for you!!!!!

I am sooo excited my stomach is flipping. You, Carl and Will will do just fine. You can never be fully prepared for your first labor. It will be awful and it will be wonderful...more wonderful when it is over. I love you all so much.
I agree with Grandma Renee. You will do great. I know Carl will be a wonderful support. Every person is different, so it is very hard to be prepared. Just try to stay calm and focused, easier said than done. Can't wait to meet baby Will. I already picture him in my mind. On hot days it is tough those last few weeks being pregnant, but enjoy that feeling of life inside of you. That is one thing I missed. Hard to believe the last time I had that feeling was almost 28 years ago, but you don't forget it. I love you all!!!
