And Then There Were 11...

Our youngest dog became pregnant a couple months ago and last night, while we slept, delivered her puppies. So we quickly went from owning 2 dogs to 11! She had 9 puppies! When I went out to move her and the pups into the house from the garage, I found 7 puppies, and after moving them and her inside went back out to ensure I had gotten them all. Well, I heard some squeaking and saw a little movement on the old comforter we had given her. Upon further inspection, I realized whatever was squeaking had crawled inside the comforter through a little hole in it. I quickly ripped open the blanket to find two little puppies huddling together within it, to total 9. Since their eyes are not even open yet, you can see how they would easily lose their way. ;) They are very cute, of course, so if anyone is looking for a puppy for Christmas, just let us know! :)

Sarah and her pups. If you look closely you can see all 9 (5 black--one is hiding under her back leg, and 4 blonde).

Our other dog--now "Aunt Missy". ; )

Awww.. what a sweet story! WHO is the "daddy" dog?? How did this happen? Was it planned? Inquiring, no, NOSY minds want to know! Ahhhh... puppies at Christmas... so fun. I wish we could take one, but we cannot. ALL Gabe wants for Christmas is a kitten... funny, huh? Love your photos and your story!!

Well, Sarah was in "that way", and during that time she jumped over our 6 1/2 foot fence (wow!) and found a mate. So, no, not planned. We love them all the same, though. :) We do plan on selling them, once they are older...we just can't take in another dog, let alone 9 more! :) It will be bittersweet.
